The softball team added another commitment to its 2018 recruiting class, gaining a Letter of Intent from local product Kaleigh Whitcomb.
Whitcomb will come to Aquinas after prepping at Calvin Christian in Grandville. Whitcomb is a three-year varsity player for the Squires who has also played two years for Diamonds Softball and seven years of travel softball for Elite. She has helped Calvin Christian win three-straight conference championships, and district titles the past two seasons. Her Squire squads won regional titles in 2016 and 2017, and were state runners-up in 2016.
Individually, Whitcomb has earned All-Conference, All-District and All-Regional honors each of the past three seasons. She was named All-State Honorable Mention in 2016.
"I chose Aquinas College because it made me feel at home," said Whitcomb. "I visited the campus and knew that it was the right fit. I am so grateful for the opportunity to receive a high level education and continue my softball career." Whitcomb will study Early Childhood Education at Aquinas College.
